Singing is not a prerequisite for talented chefs, but when we photographed Michel Richard’s beautifully plated meals for Gourmet magazine, we received a serenade. A happy-go-lucky guy, Michel was an adventurous chef born in France who was fond of experimentation. It was my goal to showcase this unique and charming personality in his enormously popular Georgetown restaurant.
