The photo of Chang with a pork belly draped over his shoulder perfectly illustrates the chef’s innovative spirit and willingness to experiment in the kitchen. After this award-winning shoot for Gourmet magazine, Chang asked me to art direct the photography for his first cookbook Momofuku. I chose the Italian photographer Gabriele Stabile who I thought could best capture Chang’s daring and creative cuisine.
